Preparation for the construction of terrazzo

1.1 Cement: white or light-colored terrazzo surface layer, should use white cement, dark terrazzo surface layer, should use Portland cement, ordinary Portland cement or slag Portland cement, its label should not be less than No. 425. The same batch of cement should be used for the same color of the surface layer.
1.2 Mineral pigments: The pigments incorporated in cement should use light-resistant and alkali-resistant mineral pigments, and acid pigments should not be used. The amount of incorporation should be 3%~6% of the weight of cement, or determined by the test. The same color surface layer should use the same factory, the same batch of pigments.
1.3 Stone grain: should be made of hard and grindable dolomite, marble and other rocks processing, the stone should be clean and free of impurities, its particle size should be 4~14mm except for special requirements.
1.4 Compartment bars
1.4.1 Glass strip: flat ordinary glass cut, 3mm thick, generally 10mm wide (according to the thickness of the surface layer), the length is determined by the size of the piece.
1.4.2 Copper strip: l~2mm thick copper plate cut into 10mm width (also according to the thickness of the surface layer), the length is determined by the size of the compartment, and must be straightened and leveled before use.
1.5 Sand: medium sand, sieve with 8mm aperture, mud content shall not be greater than 3%.
1.6 Oxalic acid: lumpy or powdered, diluted with water before use.
1.7 White wax and 22-gauge wire.
1.8 Main tools: terrazzo machine, drum (diameter is generally 200~250mm, length about 600~700mm, concrete or iron), wooden trowel, brush, iron dustpan, ruler, trolley, flat shovel, 5mm aperture sieve, oil stone (specifications according to coarse, medium and fine), rubber water pipe, large and small buckets, brooms, wire brushes, iron tools, etc.
